I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me what is the best free life insurance quotes / rates site online?
The simpler it is and the faster it is to get information from, the better. Thanks.

Online quoting for life insurance is generally a bad idea, unless you have an excess of knowledge about the products being offered, the pros and cons of each, and what your actual need is.
I would start calling local sales reps and trying to schedule something called a needs analysis to help you determine the best product and the best amount of coverage for your need and financial situation.

If you have a good idea of what you're looking for (cheap term life insurance, for example) and the amount of coverage you'd like to see quoted, then there are any number of sites to use. As I'm an "online" broker, I would (of course) send you to my website where we'd be delighted to give you all sorts of prices. The other alternative is to simply do a search for "term life insurance quotes" and click any of the sites that come up (just keep in mind that most of these, like my own site, are set up by insurance agencies & brokers). Like me, most of these have access to a wide range of companies and plans, so the actual prices you see are likely to be very competitive.
On the other hand, if you're interested in some other product or plan (like whole life insurance or universal life, etc.) or have a specific need in mind (like for a business or partnership, etc.) then it would be a really good idea to contact an insurance agent/broker directly and complete an interview &/or a "needs analysis."
Hope this helps a bit...

I like mine because you can use it without divulging any personal information and it quotes ~150 different companies. There are very few that work that well. Many agents and consumers use it all day long.
At the end of the day you still want to work with a broker to make sure you get the right plan. It's just nice to make sure that the agent is showing you everything that's available and not just the company they're working for or most comfortable with.

www.term4sale.com is great for term life. (No affiliation at all)
If you want to see permanent coverage from Whole or universal life then you will need to work with a broker.
Once you have an idea of what you want, find an independent agent that works with many companies and they will help you narrow it down to the best co for you. Remember, price is only one consideration and your final rate will be determined by your health history, not any of the websites.

I agree - it is best to work with one agent. Many of the sites out there do harvest and sell your info. Besides, it does not cost a thing to work with an agent.
That being said - there are a lot of term life quoting engines available - we use this one:
But if you are looking for whole, universal, indexed, or variable quotes - then you really need to work with an agent.

They pretty much all harvest your personal information, and sell it as leads. You're best off talking to a local agent with a real office - who WON'T sell your phone number to 300 other agents.

It is better to speak to someone live to help you figure out what kind of policy is best for you and how much.

None of them charge YOU, because they're harvesting your personal information, to sell it to agents as leads. That's why you can't get the quote then and there - they want the LEAD, so they can sell it to 100 people or so.
