Need help obtaining certified life insurance?

I need to obtain a certified copy of a death certificate (CA).

Here is the problem, a friend a mine passed a way a few months ago and she left me with a sum of money from a life insurance policy. However I am having trouble claim it because they said i need a certified copy of death certificate. I went to department of records to obtain a certificate of death. I took it to the insurance company and they told me that i needed a Authorized certified certificate of death in order to claiim it.

You posting is unclear. Are you trying to say that the vital records bureaucracy will not provide you with a death certificate because you are not the next of kin?

I had to ask a lawyer to demand the insurance company to provide the benefit forms with the use of the death certificate (certified by not to establish identity) . The forms had to be signed and notarized, it took three weeks but we finally received the insurance payout.

Ask the insurance company. You might have to pay the person or threaten to sue them. There's also that company that sends people glitter in the mail. Send that daily until you get the certificate.
